The brief for this South Brisbane Town Hall proposal was to design an extension adding to the already existing heritage listed town hall. It is now part of the private secondary school located adjacent to the site and is where the admin and offices are situated. The brief required the extension to consist of a board room, alumni store and office space, whilst having external access separate from the main building. One of the most important factors of this proposal, was to be able to create a contemporary and modern design without it feeling out of context to the heritage building and deducting from its historical value. Therefore upon site analysis, existing patterns and design elements were taken into consideration to apply to the new proposal to create unity between the two buildings.
